Shreyas Iyer stunned both experts and fans as he took a blinder to dismiss Usman Khawaja during Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Australia on Saturday. It was a straightish delivery from Ravindra Jadeja and Khawaja made up his mind early to paddle sweep it towards fine leg. However, Shreyas, who was fielding at leg gully, moved swiftly towards his left and pulled off a stunning catch to make sure that the Australia opener was not able to repeat his first innings heroics. Batting on 44, Kohli looked quite comfortable at the crease and when a delivery from the spinner crashed into his pads, he confidently went for the review despite the umpire raising his finger. The replays were inconclusive as it was difficult to figure out whether the ball connected with the bat or the pads. However, the third umpire decided to stick to the on-field umpire's decision. Once he was back in the dressing room, Kohli was seen watching the replays on the screen and along with the coaches, he was also quite unimpressed. However, there was no outburst of emotion from the right-hander.

Peter Handscomb pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Shreyas Iyer cheaply on Day 2 of the second Test encounter between India and Australia in New Delhi on Saturday. Nathan Lyon was the star for Australia as the spinner claimed four wickets in the first session and one of the wickets was that of Iyer. Iyer was cramped for room and the delivery from Nathan Lyon went flying from the inside edge. Handscomb, who was placed at short leg, could not collect the ball cleanly at first but he kept his calm and made sure to complete the catch in his second attempt to deal a heavy blow to the hosts.

Despite bowling out Australia for 263 on Day 1 of the second Test, Team India failed to stamp its authority as Usman Khawaja (81) and Peter Handscomb (72*) managed to rescue the visitors in Delhi. However, India, who took a 1-0 in the series after beating Australia in the series-opener in Nagpur, head into Day 2, slightly ahead in the contest. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to his name, while spin wizards Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped six wickets apiece.

Australia were dealt a major blow on Day 2 of the second Test match against India in Delhi as David Warner was ruled out of the match after suffering a concussion. Matt Renshaw was named as his concussion substitute, Cricket Australia confirmed ahead of the day's play on Saturday. Warner was hit by a bouncer from Mohammed Siraj while batting on Day 1 and he did not take the field during India's innings later in the day. Warner's bad form in Test cricket continued as he was dismissed for just 15.
