Eso le dio la ventaja al neerlandés, que asedió al Ferrari hasta cinco vueltas del final, se pegó a su estela, no perdió el DRS y le tiró el coche. La primera vez, Charles se la devolvió. La segunda, ambos bloquearon (para ganar el DRS en la recta) y nada cambió. Para la tercera, estudiada y trabajada, Verstappen encerró a Leclerc y se escapó hacia la victoria. El Ferrari no se despegó, pero una bandera amarilla le impediría lanzar la última ofensiva.
