Sunday is D-Day then as Steven Gerrard and Aston Villa will ultimately decide where the Premier League trophy will be engraved before one of Fernandinho or Jordan Henderson will lift it high into the sky, either in Manchester or on Merseyside. Villa boss Gerrard has promised to “give it everything” in an attempt to spoil title favourite City's party and, hopefully, improve on Villa's current standing of 14th of what’s been such an inconsistent campaign in B6.
Aston Villa have Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Kortney Hause and Calum Chambers in defence, but John Percy of the Telegraph says the Midlands outfit are interested in James Tarkowski. Steven Gerrard claimed how Burnley striker Ashley Barnes "smashed" Tyrone Mings in the face in the opening moments of Aston Villa's 1-1 draw with the Clarets. Barnes competed for a high ball with Villa's skipper and elbowed Mings in the side of his face.
