The Olympic Council of Asia on Thursday welcomed the official request submitted by the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee to host the ninth Asian Winter Games in Trojena, NEOM in 2029, Arabic language daily Arriyadiyah reported.
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has submitted an official bid to host the 2019 Asian Winter Games in NEOM’s Trojena, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
RIYADH: The inaugural Saudi Games, postponed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, will now take place between Oct. 27 and Nov. 7 with a prize pot of more than SR200 million ($53.2 million), it was revealed on Friday.
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal on Friday concluded his official visit to the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, to attend the 77th meeting of the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia. Prince Abdulaziz, who is also president of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and vice president of the Olympic Council of Asia, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Acting President of Olympic Council of Asia Randhir Singh, in the presence of Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, vice chairman of the committee, member of the Executive Office and chairman of the council’s Education Committee.
Riyadh has been confirmed as host of the 2023 World Combat Games after a formal agreement was signed on Sunday between Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, president of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and Ivo Ferriani, president of the Global Association of International Sports Federations.
