Kane Williamson will join up with New Zealand's squad in England in the coming days after the captain and his wife Sarah Raheem welcomed their second child into the world. Williamson posted a picture of the new baby boy with mum and daughter Maggie on social media, writing: "Welcome to the whanau little man!" Williamson left the Indian Premier League early to return home for the birth and will now join the Black Caps in England in the lead-up to the first Test at Lord's, beginning June 2. Batsman Devon Conway and seamer Tim Southee have already linked up with the squad after their IPL teams failed to make the playoffs. Williamson, fast bowler Neil Wagner and batsman Daryl Mitchell are expected to arrive on Wednesday, on the eve of the second tour match against a Counties XI team in Essex.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is enjoying a successful stint in the English County Championship with Sussex. Rizwan, who made his Sussex debut alongside veteran India Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara, made headlines after taking a stunning catch during the ongoing tour match between Sussex and New Zealand. On the second delivery of the 54th over of the Kiwi's innings, Delray Rawlins bowled a slightly fuller delivery to Hamish Rutherford, who came down the track and tried to smash it over long-off for a six.
New Zealand’s bowlers shared the wickets around as they warmed up for the first Test against England with almost 80 overs against Sussex at Hove.
New Zealand Cricket on Friday said that there have been three COVID-19 cases in their camp in Brighton ahead of their three-match Test series against England. "Three of the BLACKCAPS touring party are in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on the morning of the first Tour match against Sussex in Brighton," the board said in a statement. Players Henry Nicholls and Blair Tickner and bowling coach Shane Jurgensen produced positive Rapid Antigen Tests on Friday and have begun their five days of isolation, the board said.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is set to return to Test cricket for the first time since November after being included in their initial 20-man squad for next month's tour of England. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Tuesday named an extended squad for the three-Test series to include cover for players likely to miss two warm-up games at the end of this month due to their involvement in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The squad will be trimmed down to 15 before the first Test at Lord's on June 2. Williamson's elbow injury kept him out of a Test match in India in December and home series against South Africa and Bangladesh. The 31-year-old is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and could be among those absent for the warm-up matches, along with Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell.
