Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams have joined a bid to buy Chelsea Football Club.

Two of the bidders attempting to buy Chelsea have made appointing a new technical director one of their top priorities and reportedly want Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell to fill the role.
Chelsea's new owners could be revealed this week with Roman Abramovich and the Raine Group set to decide a preferred bidder from the three consortiums left standing at the end of a prolonged process, with the winner likely to be either the Todd Boehly/Jonathan Goldstein group or the Josh Harris/David Blitzer combination.
The LA Dodgers co-owner hopes to add extra credibility to his bid, and adding the ex-Evening Standard editor is certainly a step in that direction.
