The second T20I between India and South Africa turned out to be a high-scoring contest where the batters from both the teams lit the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati with their power-packed display. Though it was the Indian team that emerged triumphant, having successfully defended the total of 237, South African batter David Miller won many hearts with his fighting century that brought the tourists close to the hosts' total. The quality of Miller's batting was such that even Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli couldn't resist walking up to the South African and acknowledge his effort.
India clinched yet another series at home after beating South Africa by 16 runs in the second T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The hosts took an unassailble 2-0 lead in the series, with the final game scheduled to take place on Tuesday. After posting a total of 237 for three in 20 overs, India held their nerves to seal their first white-ball series win over the Proteas, despite David Miller's unbeaten century. South Africa's top-order continued to struggle as captain Temba Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw were both dismissed on ducks.
Proteas Twenty20 skipper Temba Bavuma said the team will take heart from David Miller's batting performance in a losing cause against India on Sunday.
India's death overs bowling issues is not a concern but the team does need to improve its execution at the back end of the match, said skipper Rohit Sharma on Sunday. Invited to bat, India posted a massive 237 for 3 but South Africa recovered from a disastrous start to take the game deep before eventually falling short by 16 runs as the hosts claimed their first win over the Proteas in a T20 series at home. "The team wants to play and bowl in a certain way and we want to give them that freedom. Yes, we have not really bowled well in the death in the last five or six games. But that is the area where people will challenge us and we are doing the same to the opposition as well," Rohit said in the post-match presentation.

Miller ton in vain as India claim 1st T20I home series against South Africa with 16-run winOn the eve of the match, social media was rife with people requesting all to pray to Goddess Durga for a rain free Sunday. There was clear weather but no one could have ever imagined that there would be a floodlights malfunction, or a snake sneaking into the ground! AS IT HAPPENEDEventually those two incidents proved to be only the pitstops as India cantered to a 16-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This was also India's first T20 International series victory against South Africa at home. There was no stopping the Indian batters on a placid Barsapara Cricket Stadium. South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma had asked his India counterpart Rohit Sharma to bat first after winning the toss but some toothless bowling and the smaller boundaries didn't help the Proteas' cause as India reached a daunting 237/3, with 178 being scored in boundaries (25 fours, 13 sixes).
Rohit Sharma-led Team India would look to seal the ongoing three-match T20I series against South Africa on Sunday by winning the second T20I in Guwahati. In the match, Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Indian side did not make any changes to their playing XI while South Africa brought in Lungi Ngidi. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma came out to bat with intent, and the duo looked to register boundaries at regular intervals.
