Team India is all set to face South Africa in their upcoming all-format tour. After clinching a memorable win over Australia in the five-match series, India arrived in Durban on Thursday morning. In a video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on social media, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Arshdeep Singh, and others were seen receiving warm welcome by the people of South Africa. However, there was another which welcomed the Indian team whole-heartedly.

Young Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi scaled the ICC T20I Ranking charts for a bowler, taking the No. 1 spot with his stupendous show in the 5-match series against Australia on Wednesday. In the process, Bishnoi extended Team India's dominance in the ICC rankings. The Indian team is already No. 1 in all three formats while the likes of Shubman Gill, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Suryakumar Yadav occupy top spots in rankings for ODI batters, Test bowlers, and T20I batters respectively.

India started their redemption for ODI World Cup 2023 final defeat on a positive note as thy thrashed Australia 4-1 in a five-match T20I series. Team India is now up for it's new assignment, which is an all-format tour of South Africa. The series will kick start from December 10 with three T20Is, followed by as many ODIs from December 17, and will be concluded by a two-match Test series from December 26.

India pacer Deepak Chahar missed the 5th and final T20I against Australia despite only returning to action in the 4th T20I of the same series. India's interim skipper Suryakumar Yadav revealed a 'medical emergency' to be the reason behind Chahar's 11th-hour pull out from the series. Though Chahar has been named for India's T20I assignment against South Africa, it isn't yet known whether he will be able to join his teammates in the Rainbow Nation. Opening up on the situation, Chahar revealed that his father has been admitted to the hospital but he isn't in a position to leave him and fly to South Africa yet.

Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian Team Leaves For South Africa Tour

The Indian cricket team departed from Bengaluru on Tuesday night for their tour to South Africa. The Men in Blue, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, head coach Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Siraj among others departed from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru for the tour. The all-format tour of South Africa will kickstart from December 10 with a three-match T20I series which will go on till December 14. From December 17, the ODI leg of the white-ball series will start which will conclude on September 21.

Continuing a beautiful trend in the Indian team, Suryakumar Yadav won hearts on social media with his beautiful gesture after India sealed the 5-match T20I series against Australia 4-1. India's nervy victory in the 5th T20I helped the nation some wounds that Australia had inflicted by beating Rohit Sharma's side in the final of the Cricket World Cup 2023. After the match on Sunday, skipper Suryakumar handed the trophy to the newcomers in the team, Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma, as the entire team celebrated the triumph.

As a result, there have been discussions regarding the explosive batter being one of the captaincy options for India for the T20 World Cup 2024. However, former India opener Aakash Chopra did not agree with the conversation and said that he believes that Suryakumar does not feature in the list of possible captains.
