No Suryakumar Yadav! IPL Winning Coach Picks India's World Cup 2023 Squad

Former Australia cricketer and Indian Premier League (IPL) winning coach Tom Moody gave his picks for India's 15-member squad for ICC World Cup 2023 and it came with a few surprises. While most of the usual names found a place in his team, there were a couple of major exclusions - Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson. Instead, he went with four spinners in Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and the out-of-favour Yuzvendra Chahal who was not a part of India's Asia Cup 2023 squad.

Not Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal Or Tilak Varma! Brian Lara Confident This India Youngster "Could Definitely Be One Of The Best"

West Indies batting great Brian Lara feels India pacer Umran Malik needs to add variety to his bowling in order to succeed at international level. Umran broke into the Indian side after impressing everyone with his pace during last year's Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He was rewarded with an India call-up, and went on to make his T20I and ODI debuts later that year in June and November, respectively. However, his form massively dipped during this year's IPL, and was even dropped from the team due to the same.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Sack Brian Lara. The New Head Coach Is...

Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday announced the appointment of Daniel Vettori as their head coach, snapping the alliance with Brian Lara that lasted two seasons. This will be former New Zealand captain Vettori's second coaching stint in the IPL as he had earlier coached Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2018. Vettori has also worked as Australia men's team's assistant coach recently, and he also had a stint with Bangladesh as a spin consultant. "Kiwi legend Daniel Vettori joins #OrangeArmy as Head Coach," said Sunrisers on their Twitter handle. Vettori, a left-arm spinner of repute, is currently coaching Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. During his stint with RCB, Vettori had guided them to IPL play-offs in 2015 and final in 2016.

Sanjay Manjrekar, Tom Moody Pick Pakistan Players Who Would Have Excelled In IPL

Pakistan cricketers took part in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) way back in 2008 but they were banned from the competition due to the political tension between their country and India. In the first season, names like Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul and Kamran Akmal took part in the competition and fans have always wondered which modern stars would have found lucrative contracts in a “perfect world”. Former cricketers Tom Moody and Sanjay Manjrekar were asked about their choices and they gave some interesting answers.

"Despite Working With Dale Steyn...": Virender Sehwag Minces No Words In Criticism Of Umran Malik

Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their IPL 2023 campaign with an eight-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. The 2016 champions had a forgetful outing in this season, with only four victories in 14 matches. Despite having many big names like Aiden Markram, Mayank Agarwal, Glenn Phillips, SRH failed to leave a mark and finished at the bottom of the points table. Apart from them, one player who turned out to be a major disappointment this year was pacer Umran Malik. The Jammu and Kashmir speedster emerged as a superstar in 2022 but gave a completely opposite performance this year.
