India vs Sri Lanka: Disappointed Wriddhiman Saha not ready to quit

Saha vented out his frustration after being dropped from the India squad for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Although the words about his exit were doing the rounds for quite some time now, the Bengal player had kept mum so far. The chairman of India's senior men's cricket team Chetan Sharma did not disclose the exact reason for ignoring Saha, but stated that the player was told about it just after the South Africa Test series. "I can't tell you on what grounds he (Saha) has been dropped. That is for the selectors only. All I can tell you is that he was told before," he said on Saturday after announcing the squad.

The BCCI has decided to allow 20,000 spectators, mostly ticket holding members of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to watch the third and final T20I between India and West Indies on October 20. "As discussed with other office bearers, as per your request, you can open up for the last T20 match against West Indies at Eden," BCCI president Sourav Ganguly wrote in an e-mail to CAB chief Avishek Dalmiya. With this only the complimentary tickets will be issued by CAB to its members and affiliated units.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to share a photograph of Ganguly, the BCCI president and Dravid, the current Team India head coach, on Tuesday. "When two legends of Indian Cricket met at the Eden Gardens," BCCI wrote in the caption. Ganguly and Dravid go back a long way. Having battled a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp which nearly derailed their campaign, India beat England by four wickets in the final of this edition to extend their dominance in the age-group showpiece. "I think the BCCI has to be complemented. The number of matches and tournaments each age group level gets to play, whether U-16, U-19 or U-23... unfortunately due to COVID-19 they didn't get to play any tournament and that's why I think this tournament win is very special," Laxman said after the victory.
