The Smriti Mandhana-led side defeated Delhi Capitals in the final on Sunday to clinch the elusive title. Fans understandably were ecstatic to see the franchise getting their hands on a piece of silverware. RCB's New Zealand star Sophie Devine, however, was additionally happy as the girls managed to get the title before the boys.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who played a key role in team's Women's Premier League triumph, lauded her teammate Ellyse Perry, saying the Australian legend helped her a lot and contributed to the team's victory through her batting and bowling. Richa and Perry formed the winning partnership that took RCB through while chasing a target of 114 in a keenly contested final against Delhi Capitals here on Sunday. RCB spinners, particularly Shreyanka Patil, and Sophie Devine, skipper Smriti Mandhana and Perry took also chipped in with valuable knocks in RCB's maiden WPL title victory. Richa told ANI said that she enjoyed batting with Australian all-rounder and learnt a lot from her. "It felt really nice batting with Ellyse Perry. She helped me out a lot. It was really fun batting with her. She won us matches with her batting and bowling, she is a legend," said Richa.

RCB spinners, particularly Shreyanka and calm knocks from Sophie Devine, skipper Smriti Mandhana and Perry took the Red and Gold side to their maiden WPL title after beating Delhi Capitals in the title clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Speaking to ANI after the RCB's win, Shreyanka said that WPL has provided an all new platform to women domestic players.
Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Smriti Mandhana said she got solid backing from the management after their failure to win the Women's Premier League last year, which went a long way in them lifting the title on Sunday. She said the 2023 campaign "taught us a lot of things" as her team beat Delhi Capitals by eight wickets to land the title here. With this, RCB's spirited bunch has managed to achieve what their men's team could not do over 16 years, and Mandhana thanked their loyal fanbase for always supporting the side. "Last year taught us a lot of things, as a player, as a captain and as a team. The management, the way they backed me during the review after the season…they have been through a lot and a big thumbs up (to them)," Mandhana said at the presentation.

A clinical Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Women's Premier League 2024 title with an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the final on Sunday. Batting first, DC were bowled out for 113 in 18.3 overs. RCB chased down the target of 114 with three balls to spare, much to the disappointment of the weekend crowd that turned out to support the home team. With Shafali Verma (44 off 27 balls) going great guns, DC were cruising at 64 for no loss in 43 balls before they committed harakiri, losing 10 wickets for just 49 runs.
