Smriti Mandhana Out Of Quarantine, To Join Team For Remainder Of ODI Series Against New Zealand

Star batter Smriti Mandhana on Tuesday completed her extended stay in quarantine here and left for Queenstown to join the Indian women's cricket team for the remainder of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand. Mandhana had missed the one-off T20 International and the two ODIs against New Zealand as she was in extended Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) along with two other players -- pacers Meghna Singh and Renuka Singh.

Smriti Mandhana missed the one-off T20 International against New Zealand here on Wednesday as she is in extended quarantine in Christchurch along with two other players, making her doubtful for the upcoming first ODI as well. Alongside Mandhana, pacers Meghana Singh and Renuka Singh are also in Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) since arriving here and it is not clear why their stay has been extended. The first ODI is slated to be played here on Saturday.

India batter Yastika Bhatia on Wednesday said that Smriti Mandhana is still in managed isolation as per the New Zealand government guidelines and that is the reason she did not play in the one-off T20I against the White Ferns. Bhatia also confirmed that Meghna Singh and Renuka Singh are also in managed isolation. At this moment, it is hard to say whether these three will be available for selection for the first ODI of the five-match series on Saturday.
