Women's ODI World Cup match here on Saturday. In the series played last year, India lost 1-2 but ended Australia's 26-match winning streak. India had also famously derailed Australia's chances in the 2017 World Cup by beating them in the semifinals. "Everyone knows what happened in 2017. More than that, we discussed our last tour of Australia. We have done well against them and we almost won the series. That's the brand of cricket we want to play and that has been our motivation," she said at a virtual media interaction ahead of Saturday's fixture. The left-handed batter further said, "the girls are really motivated and everyone is pumped to go and get 2 points on board, knowing the situation of the tournament and how important this match is. The team psychologist has also helped in this regard." On the fitness of key batter Harmanpreet Kaur, Mandhana said "she is fit and available for tomorrow's game." Women's World Cup 2022: Edulji wants Harmanpreet to bat higher up; Rangaswamy backs Mithali to fire against Australia

Diana Edulji and Shantha Rangaswamy feel the Indian women's cricket team can't afford to "blow hot and cold" in a big event like the ongoing World Cup and called for consistency in the batting department. India have two wins and as many losses to their name in the World Cup and after the defeat against England, they face the mighty Australians on Saturday. Edulji feels too many changes are being made in the batting order. Deepti Sharma batted at three in the first two games before skipper Mithali Raj replaced her in that position against West Indies and England.

Women's World Cup 2022, India vs England: Inconsistent India lose to England by 4 wickets, suffer second defeat

Inconsistency returned to haunt Indian batters as they were bundled out for a meagre 134 by England, who chased down the target in 31.2 overs to record their first win in the tournament after a hat-trick of defeats. AS IT HAPPENED India got some runs on the board, thanks to previous game's centurion Smriti Mandhana, who top-scored for the side with a 35-run knock while wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh made 33. With wickets falling intermittently, England bowled out India in 36.2 overs. England also made a stuttering start to their chase as they lost both their openers -- Danni Wyatt (1) and Tammy Beaumont (1) -- cheaply with the scoreboard reading four for two in the third over.
