Karachi Kings registered a 67-run victory over Lahore Qalandars in their previous Pakistan Super League match on Sunday. Asked to bat first, the Kings posted a total of 185/5 in 20 overs after James Vince smashed 46 off 36 balls. Apart from him, skipper Imad Wasim also scored 35 off 19 balls. Later, Qalandars were bundled out for 118 after Akif Javed took a four-wicket haul. The match turned out to be major disappointment for Qalandars' skipper Shaheen Afridi as the star pacer conceded 39 runs in his four-over spell and could scalp only wicket.

Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has time and again made headlines for his action in the Pakistan Super League. The left-arm seamer earned plenty of flak for his on-field antics while bowling to Pakistan national team skipper Babar Azam. The incident even saw ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi reaching out to Amir and speaking to him about his actions. However, Afridi's words seem to have had no impact on Amir, who left fans disgusted with another poor action on the field in a PSL match.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been at the center of controversy lately after his comments regarding skipper Babar Azam faced backlash from experts and fans. Amir compared bowling to Babar to doing the same to tail-enders and the duo shared another tense moment on the field when the pacer threw the ball towards Babar in frustration during a recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounter. Former skipper Shahid Afridi weighed in on the matter and during a show on Samaa TV, he said that he has personally texted Amir about the incident and even “scolded” him for his behaviour.

The confusion over the host venue for the 2023 Asia Cup does not seem to end. While Pakistan is the designated host, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) head, last year said that India won't be travelling to the country for the continental event. While the decision over the venue of the Asia Cup has been put off in the latest ACC meeting, veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently gave his take on the topic. Ashwin, in a video on his YouTube channel, doesn't think it is possible for Pakistan to skip the ODI World Cup in India if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuses to travel to their country for the Asia Cup.
