The fast bowlers of Pakistan have come under the scanner after their lack of pace against Australia in the first Test in Perth. Australia's experienced left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc was "surprised" to see Pakistan's lack of pace in the first Test which was one of the most talked about points. Pakistan are quite restricted in terms of putting up a quality pace bowling line-up with Naseem Shah nursing an injury and Haris Rauf opting out of the Test series. Without experience, the majority of the burden fell on Shan Masood's deputy Shaheen Shah Afridi, but even he struggled to generate pace. "I think everyone was slightly surprised at the lower pace of the Pakistan bowlers, when you're generally used to some guys getting in the 150s [kph]. I don't think that pace is the be all and end all but it certainly plays a part and can help," Starc said, speaking to media as quoted from ESPNcricinfo.

PCB Mulls Regulation To Forbid Agents From Signing More Than 2-3 Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board is looking to implement a regulation which forbids any player's agent or company from signing more than 2 to 3 players at one time for representation. The cricket management committee running the Board affairs is expected to take a final decision on this regulation in the next couple of days after two agencies signed on dozens of Pakistani team players and officials for representation. After realising that one agent, Talha Rehmani and his company Saya Corporation represented 7-8 leading Pakistani players and officials including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Rizwan, PCB has now learnt that another agency known as International Cricketers Association (ICA) also has contracts with many players and officials presently touring Australia.

Pakistan's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is looking to spoil Australia batter David Warner's farewell series from Test format. The highly anticipated three-match Test series will kick off on December 14 at Optus Stadium in Perth. Warner has amassed 8487 runs with a batting average of 44.4 in 109 Test appearances and has scored 25 tons and 36 half-centuries. The left-handed batter will have his last dance in the red-ball cricket and will be hoping to end it on a high note. Ahead of the series, Afridi stated that the team is looking to spoil Warner's farewell series and said as quoted from Geo News, "We would wish him good luck but we are not hoping for a good end for David Warner in his last Test series against us."

Pakistan Cricket Team Call Up 3 Uncapped Players For Australia Tour

Pakistan on Monday called up uncapped players Saim Ayub, Aamir Jamal and Khurrum Shehzad for the three-Test series in Australia, starting in December after fast bowler Naseem Shah couldn't recover from a shoulder surgery for the tour. Shan Masood will be leading the 18-member squad against Australia with new chief selector, Wahab Riaz also recalling left-arm pacer, Mir Hamza for the tour for which nine players from the World Cup squad have also been retained. Pakistan plays three Tests before moving on to New Zealand for five T20 internationals but Wahab only named the Test squad on Monday. While swashbuckling opener, Saim Ayub has played 8 T20 internationals and Aamir Jamal four T20 matches, pace bowler Khurrum Shehzad has been called up for the first time by Pakistani selectors due to his impressive performances in domestic cricket.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami ended the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. Shami, who had missed out on the first half of the tournament, made an entry in India's fifth league stage match against New Zealand and made an impact that a lot of bowlers have not made in their entire World Cup careers. In seven matches, Shami took 24 wickets at an average of 10.70 and a strike rate of 12.20, with the best figures of 7/57. Shami had three five-wicket hauls and a four-wicket haul in the tournament and also gained the best bowling figures by an Indian in WC history.

Pakistan's new Test captain, Shan Masood, has escaped a nasty injury that could have jeopardised his availability for the upcoming tour of Australia next month after colliding with teammate Sarfaraz Ahmed during a domestic tie. The incident happened on Friday during a List-A semi-final match between Karachi and Multan at the Rawalpindi stadium. Shan and Sarfaraz, playing for Karachi, ran to take a catch from opposite directions near mid-off and ended up in a nasty collision, with the former unable to get up immediately as the latter retrieved the ball.

PCB Starts Clearing Players' Dues After Central Contracts Issue Resolved

The Pakistan Cricket Board has started clearing the dues of national team players, which were held up for the last few months because of issues relating to new central contracts. A PCB official confirmed that majority of the players offered new contracts had signed the document and their dues had been cleared dating back to June.
