"Sachin Hit Me Into A Tree": WI Great, In Praising Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Reveals Major Story

Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop recalled bowling to a teenage Sachin Tendulkar in 1990 and how he "shocked the living daylights" out of him with a powerful hit and went to compare the legends' exploits with those of 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter who became the youngest T20 centurion and fastest Indian with an Indian Premier League (IPL) century during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday. Bishop, who took 279 scalps for WI between 1988-1998, was speaking in a video by ESPNCricinfo after Suryavanshi's 35-ball century against GT.

Punjab Kings Playing Different Cricket In IPL 2025: Prabhsimran Singh

Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh is bullish about his team's chances of making the play-offs for the first time since 2014 as it is playing "different" cricket in the Shreyas Iyer-Ricky Ponting era. Both captain Iyer and head coach Ponting are in the middle of their first season with Punjab Kings but Prabhsimran has been around since 2019. He has worked with multiple captains and coaches in his long stint at Punjab Kings but feels the Iyer-Ponting bring a breath of fresh air. "It's been seven years for me with Punjab Kings. So obviously, they have backed me a lot. And you can say that this year, we are playing very different cricket. And I feel that we are dominating most of the time," he said in the Star Sports Press Room.

'Fake' Vaibhav Suryavanshi Responds To Sachin Tendulkar's Praise, Unaware Fans Stumped

The entire Jaipur crowd was left stunned after Rajasthan Royals' 14-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, shattered multiple records and propelled his team to victory in a must-win IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans on Monday. Chasing the target of 210, RR always dominated the game as the teen batter stood tall against GT's deadly bowling lineup and became the fastest Indian centurion in IPL history, reaching there in just 35 balls. As a result, the hosts went across the line in just 15.5 overs and remained alive in the playoffs race.

India greats welcome ‘rise of a phenom’ in teen sensation Suryavanshi

BENGALURU: India batting great Sachin Tendulkar led the plaudits for 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi after the Rajasthan Royals batter became the youngest centurion in men’s Twenty20 cricket with a knock for the ages in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Suryavanshi had shown glimpses of his ability with a first-ball six on his IPL debut earlier this month, and on Monday his explosive talent was on full display as he tore apart Gujarat Titans with a 38-ball 101 in the Royals’ eight-wicket win. Rajasthan coach Rahul Dravid forgot about his leg injury and leapt from his wheelchair when Suryavanshi completed his ton in only 35 balls — the fastest by an Indian player in the league and second only to Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century in 2013. “Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings,” Tendulkar posted on social media. “End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!“ Suryavanshi blasted 11 sixes and seven boundaries as he took established international bowlers to the cleaners before walking off to a standing ovation. “What were you doing at 14?!!” wrote former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

When Sachin Tendulkar's Bouncer Left Bantoo Singh With A Bloody Nose

Sachin Tendulkar has scarred many bowlers for life with his imperious batting but Bantoo Singh saw the 'spirit of Curtly Ambrose' in 'Little Master' when he was hit by his bouncer that left him with a bloody nose with multiple fractures during an ill-tempered Ranji match between Delhi and Mumbai in 1991. Bantoo, one of the pillars of Delhi's batting between mid 80s and mid 90s, can now afford to laugh when he jogs his memory 32 summers back to April 20, 1991. "Mere naak ka naqshaa hi badaal gaya Sachin ke uss bouncer ke baad. Mere paas ab naya naak hai (The design of my nose changed after that Sachin bouncer. I have a new nose now)," Bantoo said during an interaction with PTI on the eve of legend's 50th birthday.

Yograj Singh Says Arjun Tendulkar Can Become Next Chris Gayle. Here's How

Yuvraj Singh's father - Yograj Singh - believes that Arjun Tendulkar should focus less on his bowling and more on his batting. Arjun, son of legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, is currently part of the Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2025 but has not played a single game this season. Yograj, who has trained Arjun when he made switch from Mumbai to make his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa, made a stunning prediction for the youngster. In a recent interaction, Yograj said that if Yuvraj decides to take him under his wing and work on his batting skills, Arjun can become the next 'Chris Gayle' of international cricket.
