KOLKATA : South Africa coach Rob Walter is "incredibly proud" of the team's fight despite their semi-final loss against Australia at the 50-overs World Cup and does not think the "choker" tag applies to them.

Bowling all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo and seamer Lizaad Williams have replaced the duo in the World Cup-bound squad. "It's hugely disappointing for Anrich and Sisanda to be missing out on the 50-over Cricket World Cup. Both are quality players that add immense value to the Proteas," Walter said.

South African fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Sisanda Magala's availability for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India will be determined this week following a fitness test. The duo was named in South Africa's initial 15-member squad for the World Cup, but played only one game each in the just-concluded five-match ODI series against Australia. While Nortje has sustained a lower-back injury, Magala is nursing a left-knee problem. South Africa is set to leave for India on September 23 and final call on the duo's availability will be taken before the journey.
Winning the ODI series against Australia might not exactly be top priority for the Proteas with the bigger picture of the looming World Cup in view, but on their current trajectory the South Africans will traipse to India with zip-all form in the bank.
Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter and skipper Temba Bavuma are not too concerned over South Africa's World Cup squad's batting depth.
South Africa have included spinner Keshav Maharaj and seamer Sisanda Magala in their World Cup squad after the pair overcame fitness concerns, while wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock announced he would retire from the format after the tournament.
