South Zone's juggernaut continued as they clinched the Deodhar Trophy title for the ninth time with a commanding 45-run win over East Zone in the final, here on Thursday. After opener Rohan Kunnummal smacked a sensational century -- a 75-ball 107 with four sixes and 11 fours -- to set the ball rolling for his side, there was no stopping the South Zone who piled up 328 for eight in the summit clash batting first. South Zone's impressive bowling line-up then made life miserable for the East Zone batters, whose top order crumbled to reach 75 for four after 16 overs and were left staring at a mountain to climb. It was not for the first time in the Deodhar Trophy that East Zone pinned all their hopes on the pair of Riyan Parag and Kumar Kushagra, who delivered yet again with a 105-run stand for the sixth wicket, but their effort was just not enough.

In the second half of the game, Parag returned to grab 10-1-57-4 with his leg spin to cap an impressive all-round show.

Tayyab Tahir's exceptional hundred garnished Pakistan A's march to a commanding 128-run win over India A, for a second consecutive Emerging Teams Asia Cup title in Colombo on Sunday. Once Pakistan posted a mammoth 352 for eight courtesy Tahir's 108 off 71 balls, the result was in no real doubt. India made a fist of it, but ended up at 224 all out in 40 overs to suffer their first defeat in this tournament. From the toss, everything went south for India, who asked Pakistan to bat first — a decision which was a tad puzzling because the chasing team had lost eight matches in the tournament.

Riding on an opening stand of 121 followed by a blistering century by Tayyab Tahir, Pakistan 'A' posted a huge total of 352/8 against India 'A' in the final match of the ACC Men's Emerging Cup 2023 in Colombo on Sunday. For India, Riyan Parag and Rajvardhan Hangargekar picked two wickets each, while conceding 24 and 48 respectively. Harshit Rana, Manav Suthar and Nishant Sindhu took one wicket apiece. Put into bat, Pakistan openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub got off to a steady start and put 50 runs on the scoreboard without losing any wickets, off 8.3 overs.

Team India A made the entire country proud after they defeated Bangladesh A in the semi-final match of the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup on Friday and sealed a berth in the final of the tournament. Later, Bangladesh A were bundled out for 160 after Nishant Sindhu took a terrific five-wicket haul.
