India vs South Africa: Rishabh Pant Hails "Fantastic Job" By Bowlers After India Beat South Africa In 3rd T20I

Delighted that his team was finally able to execute its plan to perfection, India skipper Rishabh Pant emphasised on the importance of spinners performing well in the middle overs, especially in Indian conditions. The Indian spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel bowled beautifully to help the hosts register a 48-run win over South Africa in the third T20I and stay alive in the five-match series. "The execution was spot-on from the bowlers and the batters. We were 15 runs short, but we weren't thinking about that. Bowlers did a fantastic job for us," Pant said at the post-match presentation.

"What He Needs To Do Is Introspect": India Legend On Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has had a tough initiation to India captaincy, as he saw South Africa emerge victorious in the first two T20 Internationals in the ongoing five-match series. With Rohit Sharma rested, KL Rahul was set to lead India in the series, but a groin injury ruled the opener out and Pant was named skipper in his absence. However, the 23-year-old has come under criticism for some of his decisions and some below-par batting performances haven't helped his case either.

"Disappointed With Sanju Samson...": India Legend On Where The Wicketkeeper-Batter Is Lagging

With the selection of Dinesh Karthik in India's T20I squad for the South Africa series, the options are many for the Indian team management when it comes to wicketkeeper-batter. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan are the other two wicketkeeper-batters in the squad. Sanju Samson is also another choice who has been in and out of the squad. Together the four presents a situation where, the selectors may be spoilt for choice. "Hasn't Cracked The Code In T20s...": Wasim Jaffer Assesses India Star's Performance

India go into the third T20I against South Africa on Tuesday facing a must-win situation. Rishabh Pant-led India were not at their best in the first two matches, and ended up on the losing side on both occasions. Pant, who was named stand-in captain on the eve of the series after KL Rahul was ruled out with a groin injury, has also looked off-colour with the bat. In the two innings so far, Pant has scored 29 and 5 so far. For someone of his experience, former Indian cricket team batter Wasim Jaffer feels Pant needs to learn the tricks of T20s in a far better way.
