"Don't Be Surprised": Ravi Shastri Backs This Rule To Be Tried Out In T20s

Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has said that the introduction of super-sub rule can prove to be a "gamechanger" for the shortest format of the game. In a first of its kind, Legends League Cricket (LLC) introduced a super-sub rule as the tournament kicked off with a special benefit match between India Maharajas and Team World Giants at the Eden Gardens on Friday.  The unique rule states that one "super substitute" will be available for each team which they can use after the completion of 10 overs in any inning of the match.

"Will Be Five Kilos Less": On Virat Kohli's Ton, Ex-India Coach Ravi Shastri's Out Of The Box Take

For Virat Kohli, his ton against Afghanistan in an Asia Cup Super 4 match was relieving to say the least. After over 1000 days, Kohli scored a ton in international cricket. His 122* off 61 balls against Afghanistan was also the highest-ever individual score in T20I cricket by an Indian. With the T20 World Cup starting in less than two months' time, the timing could not have been better for Kohli to roar back to form. After the ton on Thursday, former India coach Ravi Shastri was asked about Kohli reaching the triple-figure mark after 1020 days, and he gave his insight on it.

Ravi Shastri questions decision to not include Mohammed Shami in Asia Cup squad

Ravi Shastri on Thursday raised questions over the exclusion of ace India pacer Mohammed Shami from the Asia Cup squad where the fancied Indian team lost two consecutive matches and failed to qualify for the final. The Indian cricket team failed to defend their total after having batted first in two consecutive matches within a span of four days. India was beaten by Pakistan on September 4 and then Sri Lanka also managed to hunt down the target posted by Indian batters.

India Face Heat For "Chopping And Changing" After Asia Cup Failure

Rohit Sharma's India have been slammed for "chopping and changing" as they failed to make the final of the Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament with a game to go. Pakistan's win over Afghanistan on Wednesday knocked out India from the tournament, which was a warm-up for next month's T20 World Cup. India, who won the previous Asia Cup in 2018 played in a 50-over format, came in as pre-tournament favourites but lost their first two Super Four matches to Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Asia Cup 2022: Naseem Shah's Winning Six vs Afghanistan Reminds Babar Azam Of Javed Miandad. Ravi Shastri's Reply Is Gold

Young pacer Naseem Shah was the star of the show for Pakistan, but it was not with the ball in hand. He won the match for Babar Azam-led side with the bat, in fact, against Afghanistan in the Super 4 clash of the ongoing Asia Cup. Naseem smashed two sixes off the first two balls of the final over bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi to seal a one-wicket win for Pakistan. The match was one for the ages, and even skipper Babar could not hold his emotions at the post-match presentation.

"Shami Sitting At Home, Baffles Me...": Ravi Shastri After India's Asia Cup Loss vs Sri Lanka

In two successive games, India failed to defend decent totals at the Asia Cup and are on the brink of exit from the Super 4 Stage of the continental event. After failing to defend 181/7 against Pakistan on Sunday, they again faltered while defending 173/8 against Sri Lanka on Tuesday night. In the game against Pakistan, India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded 19 runs in the 19th over. In the game against Sri Lanka, he conceded 14 runs in the 19th over.
