Mayers arrived in Lucknow along with his wife and son, and the trio received a grand welcome from the LSG management. Peshawar Zalmi were awarded five penalty runs after a throw from the Multan Sultans fielder hit Mohammad Rizwan's wicket-keeping glove which was lying on the ground during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match on Thursday. Zalmi batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore played the ball from spinner Khushdil Shah towards fine-leg and Rizwan dashed from his wicket-keeping stance to retrieve the ball. The ball was ultimately collected by a fielder and his throw hit one of Rizwan's gloves that he took off and threw on the ground while running. Babar Azam, who was in the non-striker's end, pointed it out to umpire Aleem Dar who decided to award five runs as penalty due to 'illegal fielding'.

The explosive batter, who represents Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and Camilla both shared several pictures and videos of the event on their social media handles. Legendary Indian cricket team batter Sunil Gavaskar believes that KL Rahul might play at No. 4 for Lucknow Super Giants and promote explosive West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran to No. 3 in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. During a recent interaction, Gavaskar said that Pooran is an extremely destructive batter and he should be given more time out in the middle with Rahul not playing at his preferred batting position.
