Australia Test captain Pat Cummins has taken an eight-week break to re-energise himself in his quest to lift the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India later this year. Cummins, who recently returned from the United States following his maiden stint in Major League Cricket, was rested for next month's white-ball tour of the United Kingdom to manage his workload and give him time to work on his body ahead of a busy summer. (To have) five Tests, everyone is really excited by that and I don't know if there'd be too many drawn games.
India cricketer Shardul Thakur has revealed many details about India's victorious tour to Australia in 2020-21, stating that the team had not received good facilities from Cricket Australia. Terming the treatment towards them as "horrible", Thakur stated that then-India captain Ajinkya Rahane and coach Ravi Shastri were regularly involved in arguments with Cricket Australia, as the team did not receive adequate facilities. Thakur revealed that several negative things were spoken about India, whilst going as far as calling then-Australia Test captain Tim Paine a liar.
The visiting Indian cricket team will play a two-day day-night tour match against Australia's Prime Minister's XI between the first two Tests of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year. India and Australia meet in five-Test series starting in Perth on November 22. It will be first time since the 1991-92 season that the two heavyweights will meet over five Tests in a series. The Indian team will play a tour-day day-night tour match against the Prime Minister XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on November 30 and December 1, Cricket Australia said on their website.
