Australia are scheduled to play two Tests in Sri Lanka on January 29 and February 6, around the same time his wife -- Becky -- is due to give birth. "It's pretty hard to plan exactly the day, but definitely (I might miss the Sri Lanka tour)," Cummins told 'The Daily Telegraph' at the launch of the Pink Test, starting here on Friday. Out-of-form all-rounder Mitch Marsh was axed Thursday from Australia's team for the series-deciding fifth Test against India in Sydney with Beau Webster to make his debut. Fast bowler Mitchell Starc retained his place for Friday's match despite carrying a rib niggle and will line up in the attack alongside Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon. "Mitchy obviously hasn't quite got the runs or wickets he would have liked this series and felt like it was time for a freshen up," said skipper Cummins.

First Or Second Dismissal? Michael Clarke Gives His Take On Which Dismissal Rishabh Pant Would Have Regretted More

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke feels Rishabh Pant would have regretted the shot that led to his dismissal in the second innings of the Boxing Day Test more. Pant was at the receiving end of backlash from fans and former cricketers after India succumbed to an 184-run defeat in front of a record-attendance crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the Boxing Day Test. In the first innings, he lost his wicket after trying to execute a cheeky shot. The plan was there in his mind, but when it came to execution, Pant fluffed and lost his wicket.

Atul Wassan Slams India Players For "Casual Batting", Feels Team Is Filled With "Glamorous Batters"

Former cricketer Atul Wassan feels India's current position in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy comes down to "collective failure" and star players' incapability to make runs has been a well-known issue for the touring party. Wassan believes India is missing "unglamorous" batters in its lineup like Cheteshwar Pujara, who used to see out the entire session while solely relying on his defensive prowess. India fell to a 2-1 series trail after receiving a humbling by Australia in front of a sold-out crowd at the MCG in the Boxing Day Test. Throughout the match, India's pace attack looked out of ideas in patches, and the top batters looked out of their depths across both innings.

"We Could Pass A Law...": What Australia PM Anthony Albanese Told Jasprit Bumrah At New Year's Party

Ahead of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test starting on Friday, the Indian and Australian teams met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his fiancee Jodie Haydon in a New Year's reception at Kirribilli House on Wednesday. According to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald, Albanese also had some words for India's fast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken 30 wickets from four matches in the series so far. “We could pass a law here that says he has to bowl left-handed or off one step. Every time he has come onto bowl has been very exciting," he said in the 90-minute function.
