England captain Ben Stokes hit a stunning 155 after Jonny Bairstow was controversially given out stumped after straying out of his ground on the last day. But England were bowled out for 327 chasing a stiff target of 371. Australia captain Pat Cummins led the attack with 3-69.
Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli was all praise for Ben Stokes after the England skipper slammed a brilliant century on Day 5 of the second Ashes Test against Australia at Lord's. During the 52nd over of England's second innings, Bairstow ducked a bouncer from Cameron Green and after the ball was safely inside wicket-keeper Alex Carey's gloves, he decided to leave his crease to have a chat with Ben Stokes on the non-striker end. However, the ball was not dead yet and a direct hit from Carey resulted in a massively controversial run-out. It is common practice among batters to inform the keeper or the umpire before they leave the crease after any ball but Bairstow did not do it on this occasion and Australia decided to not withdraw their appeal.

Australian cricketer Nathan Lyon was told by his skipper Pat Cummins not to bat with a significant calf strain in the ongoing second Test against England but the veteran spinner ended up doing that to "support" his teammates. Lyon, playing in his 100th consecutive Test, is suspected to have torn his right calf while running to catch a ball on day two of the second Ashes Test at Lord's. But on Saturday, he hobbled onto the batting crease and helped Australia add 15 runs to increase their lead to 370 runs.
