Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat, who won a bronze medal for the country at the recently-concluded Paris Olympic Games, fulfilled a fantasy of his as he met the lead actor from the comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasham, Dilip Joshi. Sehrawat spoke of his admiration for the show after winning a bronze medal in the men's 57kg freestyle wrestling category. Just days after the conclusion of the Paris Games, Sehrawat had the opportunity to meet 'Jethalal' (Dilip Joshi) from the show. Much to the delight of fans on social media, Sehrawat was presented Jalebi and Fafda as present by Joshi.

India's women's table tennis team made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics, making it past the Round of 16 for the first time ever in the nation's history. India eventually lost the women's team battle to Germany in the quarter-finals, where Archana Kamath was the only paddler to have won a game. India eventually lost the match 1-3 and bowed out of the competition. Though reaching the quarter-finals was historic in India's table tennis history at the Olympic Games, Kamath wanted more. With there being no guarantee of a medal in the LA Games in 2028, the young paddler has decided to quit table tennis professionally and instead study abroad.

Armand Duplantis and Letsile Tebogo headline a raft of Olympic champions who will descend on Lausanne for the first Diamond League meeting since the end of the Paris Games. Some 18 current Olympic or world champions will be present in the Swiss city for Thursday's meet, coming just 12 days after the last of the track and field action at the Stade de France. Duplantis defended his gold in France's national stadium and improved his own world record to 6.25 metres.

The 16 para athletes will stay at hotels in Paris for a few days before entering the Games Village on August 25, three days before the Opening Ceremony. The likes of Antil, who is bidding to become the first Indian to defend his Paralympics gold, will train at facilities near the French capital to acclimatize with the weather conditions there.

Hopes of being honoured with a silver medal did arise after Vinesh challenged the decision at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS), but that verdict also went against her. Though the Paris Games produced quite a dramatic and bitter turn in her career, Vinesh is still seen as a winner back home.
