Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already given his verdict on Erik ten Hag's future as Manchester United manager.
Following Manchester United's stalemate with Aston Villa, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was giving nothing away about Erik ten Hag's precarious situation at the club. The goalless draw on Sunday may have provided Ten Hag with a slight reprieve amidst growing scrutiny.
24 hours from now, the picture will become clearer for Erik ten Hag in terms of where his Manchester United future is heading.
The Manchester United hierarchy are reportedly scheduled to meet next Tuesday in London – just 48 hours after what could potentially be Erik ten Hag's last game in charge.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe may not have been in the mood to discuss Manchester United's woes on Friday especially when one of his other sporting ventures had just completed an impressive feat.
Manchester United's hierarchy are reportedly scheduled to meet in London within 48 hours of Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa amid uncertainty over Erik ten Hag's future.
Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe refused to guarantee Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford as he admitted the club is not "where it should be" under the troubled boss. Ratcliffe had a chance to quash reports that Ten Hag is in danger of the sack when he spoke ahead of United's crucial Premier League trip to Aston Villa on Sunday. But the 71-year-old's downbeat assessment of United's predicament was hardly encouraging for Ten Hag as he fights to save his job. "I don't want to answer that question. I like Erik. I think he's a very good coach but at the end of the day it's not my call," Ratcliffe told the BBC on Friday. Ten Hag's side are languishing in 13th place after winning only two of their first six league matches. They suffered a dismal 3-0 home defeat against Tottenham last weekend and blew a two-goal lead in their 3-3 draw at Porto in the Europa League on Thursday.
For years Manchester United fans have criticised the boardroom for failing to hold a proactive relationship with the manager, leading to a disjointed relationship in the leadership structure.
