BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse has revealed its new WTCR livery to the world with a live unveiling earlier today (Friday). Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing’s representative in the 2022 WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup used an online launch close to its headquarters in Cherasco, northern Italy, to show the striking design that will flank its pair of Goodyear-equipped Hyundai Elantra N TCR cars in 2022.
A young star came to the fore at the Hungaroring on August 22, 2021 when Gilles Magnus scored his first victory in the WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup after leading Race 1 at WTCR Race of Hungary all the way from pole position. Driving a Goodyear-equipped, second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS, the Comtoyou Team Audi Sport driver headed team-mate Frédéric Vervisch for most of the race, until Mikel Azcona forced his way past on the last lap to claim second. Yann Ehrlacher also passed Vervisch in the scramble to claim a podium and assume his new status as Goodyear #FollowTheLeader.
WTCR – FIA World Touring Car stars Mikel Azcona and Norbert Michelisz will help to mentor the next generation of Hyundai-powered TCR drivers. Jáchym Galáš, a 20-year-old from Czech Republic, and Briton Lewis Kent, 22 (pictured), have been selected for the Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing Junior Driver initiative for 2022, along with four rally drivers.

Azcona was announced earlier this month as Norbert Michelisz’s new BRC stablemate for the upcoming season when he will drive a Goodyear-equipped Hyundai Elantra N TCR.

Norbert Michelisz, the Hungarian hero and 2019 King of WTCR, has said joining forces with Mikel Azcona to fly the Hyundai flag in the WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup will make the build-up to the new season even more exciting, adding that his new team-mate is “one of the best drivers”. Michelisz is starting his fifth season as a Hyundai-supported BRC Racing Team driver and does so having won seven WTCR races and claimed 18 podiums along with the coveted WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup for Drivers title in 2019.
Hyundai Motorsport Deputy Team Director Julien Moncet believes Mikel Azcona is the right choice to replace Gabriele Tarquini as a Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing driver in this season’s WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup. Azcona was announced as a new Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing recruit yesterday (Monday) and will line up in a BRC Racing Team-run Hyundai Elantra N TCR on Goodyear tyres. He takes over from touring car legend Tarquini – who has retired from full-time competition – as team-mate to Norbert Michelisz.
