Former India cricketer Parthiv Patel hailed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi and said that the youngster 'batted well' against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Kolkata-based franchise clinched a massive 106-run win over Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. In the match, Raghuvanshi scored 54 runs from 27 balls at a strike rate of 200. He smashed 5 fours and 3 overhead boundaries. While speaking to JioCinema, Patel said that the 18-year-old played "excellent" shots against the Delhi-based franchise.
NEW DELHI : Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Mitchell Starc was a relieved man on Wednesday after he finally got among the wickets to help his team to a thumping away win over Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.
After his 85-run knock against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowling allrounder Sunil Narine said that cricket is all about batting. Narine opened for the Kolkata-based franchise and played an 85-run knock from just 39 balls at a strike rate of 217.95. The Caribbean allrounder smashed 7 fours and sixes during his time on the crease. While speaking at the post-match presentation, Narine said he was pleased to contribute with the bat. However, the 35-year-old added that he enjoys his bowling.
Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant was fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during his side's Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The Delhi-based franchise suffered a massive 106-run defeat against the Knight Riders at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Following the loss, DC stood in ninth place on the IPL 2024 standings with 2 points.
Kolkata Knight Riders scripted history by posting a mammoth total of 272/7 during the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were the top performers while Andre Russell was yet again at his explosive best as the KKR batters made short work of the DC bowling attack. While KKR fell short of beating the highest IPL score of all time - 277/3 - that belongs to Sunrisers Hyderabad, this was the highest total posted by a side away from home in the IPL.
Sunil Narine smashed 85 to lead Kolkata Knight Riders to the second-best ever IPL total of 272-7 in a crushing 106-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. The mammoth score came just a week after Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest ever innings total of 277-3. Kolkata, IPL champions in 2012 and 2014, remain unbeaten from three matches this season after they bowled out Delhi for 166 in 17.2 overs to top the 10-team table. Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant made 55 off 25 balls, his second successive fifty, and Tristan Stubbs hit 54 but the rest of the batting flopped.
Mitchell Starc has not lived up to his astronomical price tag so far in the IPL but Kolkata Knight Riders bowling coach Bharat Arun on Tuesday backed the Australia left-arm pacer, saying it's just a "matter of time" before he hits his stride. Starc's combined figures from the first two games read an underwhelming 8-0-100-0. "He is probably one of the most experienced bowlers in the world and also somebody who understands the conditions and adapts to it very well. I think you will a see a different version of him in the future games," Arun said ahead of their match against Delhi Capitals here.
