SL vs AUS: Australia Announce Playing XI For 1st T20I vs Sri Lanka

Australia's big guns returned to the side as they announced the playing XI for the opening Twenty20 International (T20I) against Sri Lanka at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday. Mitchell Marsh, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith had all missed the recent T20I matches at home to Sri Lanka in February and the one-off T20I against Pakistan in Lahore in April but return to the playing XI for the first T20I. Speaking about the team composition, Australia's limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch said that there was a temptation to play two spinners but with rain around in the last couple of days, they decided to go in with three fast bowlers.

IPL 2022, MI vs DC: Will Rohit Sharma do Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis a favour?

RCB need Mumbai Indians to beat Delhi Capitals today to qualify for the playoffsMUMBAI: Keep an eye on the stands at Wankhede. A Virat Kohli or a Faf du Plessis or even the entire Royal Challengers Bangalore squad might be found sitting there on Saturday evening, cheering for Mumbai Indians. Kohli and du Plessis themselves joked about this on Thursday evening, after their comprehensive win over the Gujarat Titans to inch closer to the play-offs. But the joke is getting serious. RCB's entry into the playoffs depends on the result of the match between Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians. Should Delhi lose the game, RCB go in as Delhi will end with 14 points. A simple win for Delhi should take them through as their net run rate (+0. 255) is far superior to RCB's -0. 253.

Anrich Nortje and Australia opener David Warner will be available for Delhi Capitals' next match in the Indian Premier League (IPL), coach Ricky Ponting said after the team's defeat by Gujarat Titans on Saturday. Nortje has not played since last year's Twenty20 World Cup after being sidelined with a back and hip injury. Ponting said the 28-year-old has resumed bowling in the nets and would play Thursday's match against IPL debutants Lucknow Super Giants in Mumbai. "I think he has to get through another maybe four or five-over spell at 100 percent capacity and then I think if he gets clearance from Cricket South Africa, he should be right to go," Ponting said. "We have got a few more days before our next game, so hopefully he is available for selection for that one."
