Match No- 31 of the ongoing Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat turned out to be a high-scoring encounter. Playing in Adelaide on Saturday, the Strikers registered a massive 56-run victory as they posted 251/5 in 20 overs, after being asked to bat first. In return, the Heat put up a good fight but gout bundled out for 195. For Strikers, Matthew Short was the star performer with his 109-run knock. However, a moment from Strikers' bowler Liam Haskett became the highlight of the day.
The pink-ball practice match between India and Australia Prime Minister's XI was turned into a 46-overs-a-side contest on the second day after rain washed out the first day. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. Mohammed Siraj was handed the pink ball to start the proceedings. Matt Renshaw took the strike while Sam Konstas was at the other end. Just when Siraj was about to bowl the first delivery, Renshaw pulled out of his stance as he got distracted by security personnel standing by the sight screen.
Ahead of his side's two-day pink-ball warm-up fixture against India, Australia's Prime Ministers' XI captain Jack Edwards said that the team is excited to go against some of the best players in the world, particularly star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and hope to put a dent into the Indian batting line-up ahead of the pink-ball Test against Australia at Adelaide from December 6 onwards. The visitors will be aiming to brush up their skills against the pink ball as they have arrived in Canberra for the match starting from Saturday onwards.
