Miami Open: Elena Rybakina emulates impressive Serena Williams feat, Jessica Pegula edges thriller
Elena Rybakina emulated a feat achieved by the great Serena Williams at the 2020 US Open as she continued her serene progress at the Miami Open on Tuesday, while Jessica Pegula also recorded another fine win. The Wimbledon champion became the first woman to hit 10 or more aces in four matches at a single tournament since Williams did so at the 2020 US Open in her near-flawless 6-3 6-0 victory over Martina Trevisan at the Hard Rock Stadium. Ad Rybakina, who struck a formidable 23 winners in the contest, also became the first woman to hit 10 or more aces in four consecutive matches since 2018, per the WTA, as she raced to be the first player to fire down 200 aces already this season.
