THE COLONY, Texas (AP) — Charley Hull put a little extra time into putting practice and it paid off for her in a big way Sunday when she ran off four birdies on the back nine for a 7-under 64 to win The Ascendant LPGA.
Charley Hull has won the Ascendant LPGA event benefiting Volunteers of America, making it her first LPGA title since 2016. It was a nervy win, with Hull taking charge with three birdies after the 11th hole. Ad China’s Xiyu Lin was able to get it back to within one shot going to the final hole, but she missed a chance to birdie, handing Hull the LPGA victory.
Charley Hull began the back nine with a double bogey and then settled down to salvage an even-par 71 on Saturday to share the lead with Xiyu "Janet" Lin going into the final round of The Ascendant LPGA.
