The American struggled on serve inside a windy Court Philippe-Chatrier but still had enough firepower to book a clash with either Iga Swiatek or Lesia Tsurenko. If Swiatek sees off the Ukrainian later on Monday, it would see a rematch of the 2022 final when the Pole stormed past Gauff 6-1 6-3.
