Aaron Finch-led Australia won the second T20I of the two-match series against West Indies quite comfortably as the hosts registered a comfortable 31-run win at the Gabba, Brisbane to win the series 2-0. Pacer Mitchell Starc came up with the best bowling figures of his T20I career as he finished with a spell of 4-20. Starc went to to dismiss Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, Nicholas Pooran and Odean Smith.

After being put into bat, West Indies struggled to stitch any valuable partnership and were restricted to 145 for nine in 20 overs. Opener Kyle Mayers top-scored for the visitors with a 36-ball 39, hitting four fours and a six during his stay in the middle. Mayers grabbed eyeballs with a scintillating 105-metre six off Cameron Green's delivery in the fourth over of West Indies' innings.
Aaron Finch dropped to four in the batting order and found some confidence-boosting form Wednesday, hitting 58 to steer Australia to a three-wicket win over the West Indies in the opening Twenty20 international. The hosts were in trouble when they slumped to 58-5 in the eighth over, but skipper Finch, who usually opens, and Matthew Wade (39 not out) steadied the ship, putting on 69 runs. Finch fell in the 18th over and the game went to the wire, with Mitchell Starc hitting the winning runs with a ball to spare.
