Max Verstappen reclaimed the Formula One points lead as the reigning world champion won the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday for his third consecutive victory after Charles Leclerc's Ferrari broke down while he was comfortably in front.
Max Verstappen secured a battling victory at the Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday to close the gap at the top of Formula 1. The Red Bull driver was something of a surprise winner as he had spent much of the race behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who started the grid on pole.
Kevin Magnussen qualified eighth in Barcelona less than a tenth behind Valtteri Bottas, whose Alfa Romeo team had brought a whole slew of upgrades to the Spanish round.
Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen will go head to head again from the front row of the grid for today's Spanish GP, as the title rivals headline a race which is set to also see Mercedes fight Ferrari and Red Bull.
