A disappointed Jurgen Klopp admitted that Liverpool failed to produce the “special performance” they had been preparing for in their Champions League loss to Real Madrid. The Reds have produced some of the greatest comebacks in European history but attempting to overturn the 5-2 deficit from the first leg proved impossible, as Karim Benzema scored to give Los Blancos a 1-0 win on the night at Santiago Bernabeu. Ad «Being 5-2 down is not a great result if you want to go through,” reflected Klopp in his post-match interview with BT Sport.
