The Super Eagles have urged President Bola Tinubu to stop watching them on television but to join other Nigerians to cheer them live at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The tournament is on course to be far more prolific than either of the two previous editions to feature 24 teams, after 89 goals were scored in the group stage.

ABIDJAN :Nigeria booked their passage into the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after a first-half own goal from Guinea-Bissau's Opa Sangante handed them a 1-0 victory on Monday, which was enough to earn them second place in Group A.
