After another series defeat in the West Indies, and a winless run that has extended to nine games, there are more questions around England.
Joe Root should step down as England Test captain following his side's series loss to the West Indies, former skipper Michael Vaughan told the BBC.
England's interim head coach Paul Collingwood has thrown his support behind Test captain Joe Root and said he is "amazed" that questions are being asked about his future as skipper.
Joe Root should step down as England Test captain following his side's series loss to the West Indies, former skipper Michael Vaughan told the BBC. Root's position is under the spotlight after a 1-0 series defeat which came on the back of a woeful 4-0 Ashes thrashing by Australia. That extended England's poor run to four successive Test series defeats. The 31-year-old Yorkshire star batter has skippered England in a record 64 Tests, winning 27 games -- more than any other captain -- but lost 26, which is also more than any other captain.
Kevin Pietersen has launched a passionate defence of Joe Root after a number of England legends urged him to resign as Test captain.

The England men's cricket team suffered their sixth defeat in the last 10 Tests when they went down by 10 wickets against an inspired West Indies team in Grenada. Having drawn the first two Tests of the series, England were comprehensively beaten by the hosts, who rattled the English batting line-up in both innings of the Test to inflict a series loss. This woeful Test form has brought skipper Joe Root under the radar once again for all the wrong reasons. If a 4-0 Ashes drubbing wasn't enough, Root is now under immense pressure following the series defeat in the Caribbean.
