Victoria Azarenka battled past Madison Keys 6-4 6-7(4) 6-1 in Guadalajara on Thursday (Oct 20), ending the American's hopes of reaching the WTA Finals and setting up a quarter-final showdown with Coco Gauff, who rolled past Italian Martina Trevisan 6-0 6-3.

Coco Gauff qualified for the WTA Finals for the first time on Wednesday, along with French player Caroline Garcia, who will be making her second appearance in the event. Gauff, 18, and Garcia join world number one Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur and Jessica Pegula in the singles draw for the finals in Fort Worth, Texas from October 31 to November 7. Gauff will also play in the doubles with partner Pegula, making them the first Americans to take part in the WTA Finals in both singles and doubles since Serena and Venus Williams in 2009.
