Graeme Swann Helping Group Of England Spinners Ahead Of India Tour

Having been there and done that, Graeme Swann is now mentoring a group of young England spinners, who would feature in a 'Shadow Tour' of India next month with a couple of them in contention to make it to senior team for five-Test series, starting January 25. Off-spinner Swann claimed 20 wickets and along with Monty Panesar played pivotal role in handing India a shock 2-1 defeat in a four-Test series in 2012-13 for the Anthony de Mello Trophy, recording a rare feat in the history.

Moeen Ali Becomes Third England Spinner To Take 100 ODI Wickets

England all-rounder Moeen Ali completed 100 wickets in ODI cricket on Sunday, becoming the only third spinner from the country to do so. Moeen reached this milestone during England's second ODI against New Zealand at Southampton. During the match, the spinner bowled well, taking 2/30 in five overs at a decent economy rate of 6.00. He took the crucial wickets of in-form all-rounder Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner. Moeen also contributed 33 runs off 32 balls with his bat, smacking three boundaries and a six.

"Like A Young MS Dhoni": England Great Compares IPL Star With Legend. Not Ishan Kishan

Excitement levels are reaching a crescendo as the IPL 2023 enters its business end. This year's edition is proving all the more difficult-to-predict as it has been one of the closest seasons, especially in terms of which teams will make the playoffs. With 55 of the 74 matches played so far, there is still no team that is out of the race for the playoffs. And plenty of dramatic last-ball finishes have kept fans on their feet.

"Afghanistan Can Win The World Cup...": England Great Explains Reason

The Afghan spin twins at the Gujarat Titans -- Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad -- have been a handful for the opposition teams in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Rashid and Noor have worked in tandem in IPL 2023 and have bagged 30 wickets between themselves. While Rashid has been a well-established name in IPL, GT captain Hardik Pandya's has backed the 18-year-old Noor, a decision which has reaped rewards for the defending champions.

"Why This Will Be His Last Year...": Amid Guesswork Over MS Dhoni's IPL Future, England Great Says He's "Too Big To Go"

MS Dhoni is still going strong and England spin great Graeme Swann believes there is no reason why the IPL 2023 should be the World Cup-winning captain's swansong. It is widely perceived that the ongoing IPL would be the last time Dhoni would be seen in action. "Every time he goes into bat, he's smashing sixes. Why this will be his 'last year' is beyond me. If he wants to keep on playing, he can do whatever he likes," Graeme Swann, an IPL expert with Jio Cinema, said.

"Massive Personalities...": England Great On Why Virat Kohli-Gautam Gambhir Heated Exchange Was 'Brilliant'

Apart from the high-octane action on the field in the IPL 2023, one major talking point in the cash-rich league has been the altercations between stars of various teams. Be it Royal Challengers Bangalore star Virat Kohli's on-field heated exchange with Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir and pacer Naveen-ul-Haq. Or, RCB star pacer Mohammed Siraj's angry words with Delhi Capitals' Phil Salt and David Warner. The incidents seem to be too many. And England great Graeme Swann feels it is great for the IPL.

"Don't Want To Be Shouting, Screaming...": Eoin Morgan, Chris Gayle, Graeme Swann Discuss Flipside Of IPL Strategic Timeouts

It was 2009 when strategic time-outs were introduced in the IPL for the first time. Originally intended as a time to huddle together and re-group on game strategy during an inning, time-outs have now become the mainstay of how IPL sides plan their run chases or target defence mid-innings. Often, strategic time-outs have also been catalysts to start or stop a side's momentum during innings, eventually influencing match outcomes.
