PCB Selector Reveals Chat With Gautam Gambhir Over Pakistan Cricket: "Feels Sorry..."

Pakistan won a Test on home soil after a gap of more three years on Friday, beating England by 152 runs in the second match in Multan to level the three-game series 1-1. Pakistan's new selection committee made some unexpected changes to the squad for the last two Tests, dropping the likes of star batter Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Afridi. The decision received mixed response from fans of Pakistan cricket. While some suggested that dropping out-of-form batter Babar was a mistake, others hailed the new selection committee for making the right call.

"Not Protecting Virat Kohli": Dinesh Karthik Unimpressed As Gautam Gambhir Gamble Backfires

Team India had to shuffle the batting order a bit after Shubman Gill missed out on the first Test against New Zealand. In Gill's absence Virat Kohli was promoted to the No. 3 spot while Sarfaraz Khan batted at No. 4. Both batters incurred ducks, prompted many to question the decision taken by the head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma. As India's tactical decisions in the first innings backfired, former wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik raised some tough questions over the calls taken by the team management, especially the head coach Gambhir.

Sanju Samson Told Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir He Wants To Play Tests. Their Honest Reply

Not yet a certainty in Team India's white-ball teams, but Sanju Samson isn't giving up hopes of making his Test debut for the nation. The wicket-keeper batter, who hit his maiden T20I ton in the match against Bangladesh, has made his dream of representing the country in red-ball cricket public. In fact, Samson has already had a chat with Team India's leadership group - head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma - about his Test ambitions. What's promising is the fact that Rohit and Gambhir, apparently, also see Samson as a player who can do well in Test cricket.

India look to continue red-hot test form against New Zealand

BENGALURU : India will look to continue an unprecedented run of test success on home soil when they face an injury-hit New Zealand in the opener of a three-match series beginning on Wednesday.

India's Likely XI vs New Zealand: Three Pace Attack In 1st Test? Gautam Gambhir Says This

The sight of a pitch with a fair smattering of grass and premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah putting in hard yards at nets might be the early signs of India sticking to the three pacers theory for the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru from Wednesday. Keeping in mind next month's trip to Australia where pacemen will have to shoulder the bulk of bowling, India have been giving more exposure to their quicks since the recent home series against Bangladesh.

"There'll Be Days We'll be Out For 100...": Gautam Gambhir's Brave Stance As India Chase Glory

India head coach Gautam Gambhir said on Monday that he will not stop his batters from pursuing a "high risk, high reward" approach in Test cricket even if it means that the side gets bundled out for 100 on some days. India dished out their own version of 'Bazball' while chasing a victory in the recent Kanpur Test against Bangladesh after more than two days were lost to rain. The team defeated the visitors by seven wickets. "Why do we need to hold on to people? If they can play the natural game, if they can get 400-500 runs in a day, why not? We will play it that way -- high risk, high reward, high risk, high failure," Gambhir told reporters ahead of the three-match Test series against New Zealand that starts here on Wednesday.

"Fantastic Thinker": Gautam Gambhir Earns Rich Praise From Australia Star Ahead Of Border Gavaskar Trophy

Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has lauded Gautam Gambhir's tactical acumen, saying the India coach is a fantastic thinker of the game who priortises the team's need and seeks to gain advantage through adjustments in techniques and field placements. As a player, Starc worked with Gambhir, who was Kolkata Knight Riders' team mentor, earlier this year during the Indian Premier League.

Gautam Gambhir Silences Talks Around Virat Kohli's "Hunger" Ahead Of New Zealand Tests

India head coach Gautam Gambhir is not too concerned about the recent lukewarm form of Virat Kohli, insisting that the star batter remains as hungry as he was when he made his debut and should not be judged after every match. Kohli has made only one fifty, a 76 against South Africa at Centurion in December 2023, in his last eight innings, and him regaining his touch is crucial for India against New Zealand in a three-Test rubber starting on Wednesday and during the five-match series against Australia next month.
