KKR vs SRH Live Streaming IPL 2024 Final Live Telecast: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The final will be the repeat of Qualifier 1 when KKR defeated SRH comprehensively to book their spot in the final. SRH, on the other hand, had to do it the tough way, overcoming Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 just a couple of nights back. KKR will hope to lift their third IPL trophy and end a 10-year wait for silverware. SRH meanwhile won the IPL back in 2016 after defeating RCB in the final in Bengaluru.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to several reports, is interested in Gautam Gambhir taking over the role of Indian cricket team coach. Amid lack of alternatives, because of certain overseas coaches' withdrawal, the BCCI don't seem to have many top options when it comes to finding Rahul Dravid's successor as Team India's head coach. A report has now claimed that Gambhir, who is the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 at present, was offered a 'blank cheque' by the franchise's co-owner Shah Rukh Khan to join the franchise for the next 10 years, when he was at Lucknow Super Giants.
As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) intensifies its hunt for the men's national team's new head coach, the names of several renowned former cricketers have surfaced. VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir were the top Indian names to emerge as the board rolled out the advertisement to find Rahul Dravid's replacement. The likes of Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, Stephen Fleming, etc. were also reported to be on the board's shortlist. But, it seems like the No. 1 candidate on the BCCI's radar is Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir.
Shreyas Iyer-led teams have reached IPL final two times in the last four years. But the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper has little qualms about not being celebrated enough as a leader and ceding spotlight to their mentor Gautam Gambhir. Iyer had led Delhi Capitals to the IPL title clash in 2020 before guiding KKR to this edition's summit match against Sunrisers Hyderabad to be played on Sunday. Asked if he feels that his achievements as a leader haven't received enough traction, the straight-talking Mumbaikar replied sharply. “The hype is definitely created by you guys (media). Where I stand (as a skipper) is definitely on you (to decide),” Iyer replied to a query from PTI during the pre-match conference on Saturday.
Former India batter Gautam Gambhir is leading the race to become the next head coach of the senior men's cricket team. With current head coach Rahul Dravid set to expire after the T20 World Cup next month, the BCCI have approached a few names, including Gambhir for the role. It was earlier reported that the BCCI had spoken to a few overseas candidates as well, including legendary Australia captain Ricky Ponting. However, BCCI Secretary rubbished the rumours by suggesting that the board did not approach Ponting or any other Australian.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru's quest for their maiden IPL trophy still continues as they lost against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator of IPL 2024 and were knocked out of the tournament. RCB, who started their campaign with seven defeats out of eight matches, won six games on trot and entered the Playoffs. However, they failed to cast their magic in the Eliminator against RR and lost the game by four wickets. Former India batter and Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir stated that RR's fearless approach turned out to be a game-changer for them.
VVS Laxman's reluctance to become the Indian team's head coach is an open secret but with the former batting stalwart's stint as NCA's 'Head of Cricket' ending in September this year, it remains to be seen how BCCI manages to retain him in the set-up. While Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir is believed to be the favourite among available options for the BCCI, it is still not clear whether secretary Jay Shah has spoken to the national team's senior stars about Gambhir's unanimous acceptability.
