Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has travelled to London for talks with Arsenal over a deal for Gabriel Magalhaes, according to reports in Italy.
Manchester United are targeting Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, according to the Daily Mirror. Talks are reported to be ongoing between the clubs over the 20-year-old Holland international.
Arsenal’s decision to sell Calum Chambers was arguably the biggest factor in the Gunners’ failure to achieve a top-four finish. This is epitomised by the injuries Arsenal have had in the back end of the season.
This time, Mikel Arteta will find the cupboard bare if he tries raiding it for complaints. He had been enraged by the decisions that brought Arsenal’s defeat to Spurs but this time there can be no obscuring the fact that, when they could least afford to blink, his team did not turn up. Champions League qualification is still possible but only if they beat Everton while Tottenham, surpassing even their own jittery reputation, are overcome by relegated Norwich. It remains a season of progress and the evidence is that, in any case, they are not quite ready for a place among the elite. Arsenal slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park, a result which could well prove decisive in the battle for top four. Newcastle had lost 18 of their previous meetings with Arsenal in all competitions, which seemed to bode well for the north Londoners. Mikel Arteta’s side arrived at St James’ Park under huge pressure, however, having collapsed to a 3-0 defeat in the north London derby last week and ceded fourth spot to Tottenham following their 1-0 win against Burnley at the weekend.
82' Bruno Guimarães (Newcastle United) ha recibido una falta en la zona defensiva.
