Toronto Raptors all-star guard Fred VanVleet is doubtful for Thursday's playoff game against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers with a strained left hip flexor.
PHILADELPHIA — In enemy territory, and on the biggest stage for many of them, the young Toronto Raptors could have withered without their all-star point guard in Philadelphia on Monday night.
PHILADELPHIA — After the Raptors took down the 76ers 103-88 in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round series Monday night — moving Toronto within two wins of becoming the first team to erase a 3-0 deficit in NBA history — Philadelphia superstar Joel Embiid remained confident his team has what it takes to close out this series.
No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series. Fortunately for the Toronto Raptors, their 110-102 win over their Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 provided a glimmer of hope.
The Toronto Raptors will not have all-star guard Fred VanVleet in the lineup for Monday's playoff game against the 76ers in Philadelphia.
The Toronto Raptors lived to see another game.
Toronto Raptors forward and 2021-22 Rookie of the Year, Scottie Barnes is active and will return for Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers. He will come off the bench as the Raptors play with the same starting lineup as Game 3: Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, and Khem Birch.
