Australia completed a clean sweep of their three-match Twenty20 series against New Zealand on Sunday as Matthew Wade's side won a rain-affected clash by 27 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method at Eden Park.
New Zealand and Australia suffered injury blows ahead of the third T20I with Devon Conway and David Warner being ruled out of the final clash. Conway sustained a blow on his left thumb while wicketkeeping from an Adam Milne delivery in the second over of the match which clicked over 140 kmph. He was forced to leave the field and Finn Allen took over the role behind the stumps. For the rest of the match, Conway didn't come out to field or bat. The initial X-ray scans ruled out a fracture.

New Zealand strike bowler Trent Boult was recalled on Wednesday for the T20I series against Australia but the hosts will be without Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell. Boult is in a 14-man squad for the three-match series but only available for the last two games in Auckland, with fellow veteran seamer Tim Southee to play just the opening game, in Wellington on February 21. The 34-year-old Boult has been infrequently selected for international duty since being released from his New Zealand central contract in August 2022, allowing him to play in more domestic T20 leagues.
Pakistan's spinners ran through New Zealand to pick up a consolation 42-run win in the fifth and final Twenty20 international on Sunday and avoid a series clean sweep. The tourists lost the five-match series 4-1 but it ended on a positive note as they dismissed the Black Caps for a paltry 92 in defence of 134-8. Part-time offspinner Iftikhar Ahmed produced career-best figures of 3-24 as a weakened New Zealand batting lineup struggled against the turning ball and were skittled for their eighth-lowest T20 total.

The Pakistan cricket team fans are not happy after the DJ at the University Oval, Dunedin played wrestler Big Show's World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) entrance music for wicket-keeper Azam Khan during the third T20I match against New Zealand on Wednesday. As Azam came out to bat in the 11th over of the Pakistan innings, the DJ played the music in the stadium and it enraged a lot of fans. The supporters were not happy on social media and many of them accused the DJ of 'body shaming' the Pakistan cricket team player. The cricketer scored just 10 before he was dismissed by Matt Henry.
New Zealand opening batter Finn Allen entered the record books on Wednesday following his 62-ball 137 against Pakistan in the third T20I in Dunedin. Allen now holds the record for the highest T20I score by a New Zealander, surpassing Brendon McCullum's previous best of 123. He also equalled Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai for carting most sixes in a T20I, 16 to be precise. In the sixth over, he hit Rauf for 27 runs, including three sixes and two fours. Speaking during the mid-innings break, Allen revealed that he had cracked a deal with Rauf ahead of the series.
