PHILADELPHIA — Surviving both a Joel Embiid injury scare and a fourth-quarter push by the Orlando Magic, the Philadelphia 76ers took a significant step toward escaping the Eastern Conference play-in picture with a 125-113 victory over the Magic here at Wells Fargo Center Friday night.
Saturday's NBA slate features four games that bettors can choose from. The game I'm looking forward to the most is between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. Watching LeBron James face his former team is always entertaining, but the Lakers are also battling for seeding in the Western Conference. Let's dive into my recommendations from this game and others on the slate.
Wednesday features a pair of gems on ESPN, starting with the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (quad) and Jalen Williams (ankle) both missed Tuesday's game and the Thunder took an L to the Philadelphia 76ers, who welcomed back Joel Embiid, making his first appearance since Jan. 30 due to a meniscus injury. Embiid racked up 24 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block and Kelly Oubre led the way with 25 points for the Sixers, while Chet Holmgren paced the Thunder with 22 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and three 3-pointers. SGA and Williams will both be game-time calls for the Thunder on Wednesday, but there's a chance both of them will play tonight. Especially since they're still battling with the Nuggets and Timberwolves for the No. 1 seed in the West.

Injury news rocked the NBA again on Thursday as it was announced that Karl-Anthony Towns would miss the rest of the regular season due to a torn meniscus in his left knee and that Victor Wembanyama would be out the rest of the week with a sprained ankle. Add in Jalen Johnson's sprained ankle and this has not been a fun week to be a fantasy basketball manager.
Friday's NBA slate features seven games to choose from, but the most interesting game might be between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers.
LOS ANGELES: The Cleveland Cavaliers overturned a 22-point fourth-quarter deficit to snap the Boston Celtics' 11-game winning streak with a 105-104 victory on Tuesday (Mar 6).
