Besides the duo, the list also features New Zealand batter Devon Conway, England pacer Ollie Robinson and Proteas women star Dane van Niekerk. England's Joe Root has been named leading cricketer in the world, while South African women's team batter Lizelle Lee has been awarded the title of leading woman cricketer.

India's captain Rohit Sharma and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah have been honoured by Wisden as two of their Five Cricketers Of The Year. The two were named along with New Zealand opener Devon Conway, England pacer Ollie Robinson and South Africa Women captain Dane van Niekerk. England skipper Joe Root was named Leading Cricketer in the World in the 2022 edition of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. Root had a stellar year in 2021, scoring six centuries and piling on runs for fun even as his team struggled around him.

Attendees included MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, coach Stephen Fleming and many others.

The awards are being delivered virtually over three days. Boult was awarded for his splendid run at the T20 World Cup in UAE lst here where New Zealand reached the final. The 32-year old had taken 13 wickets in the tournament and played a crucial role in taking his side to the finals. Boult defeated Tim Southee, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell and Ish Sodhi -- who also played vital roles in the Black Caps' run to the final before they lost to Australia -- to take home the award.

Despite having a poor start to his Indian Premier League (IPL) career, Devon Conway seems to be working on his batting skills ahead of his next opportunity for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The New Zealand batter played in the IPL 2022 season opener against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but was dropped after that as CSK went on to lose by six wickets and Conway could muster just three runs off eight deliveries in the match. In a recent video posted by CSK on social media, the Kiwi cricketer showcased his pull shot technique and compared it to Brian Lara's. After playing the shot during training, he also exclaimed, "we see Lara!"
