LONDON (AP) — Formula One champion Max Verstappen has signed a new deal that keeps him at Red Bull to 2028.
World champion Max Verstappen has penned a long-term contract extension with Red Bull, tying him to the Austrian outfit until 2028. The Dutchman snatched the drivers’ title away from seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the 2021 season in dramatic – and highly controversial – circumstances.
Red Bull has confirmed reigning world champion Max Verstappen will remain at the team until 2028 after signing a new contract.
The deal, reportedly worth up to £40million ($54 million) per season, will keep the Dutch driver with the team until the end of 2028. The 24-year-old's current contract was due to expire at the end of next season but he has been rewarded for beating seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton to the title.
