The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla has recalled his first interaction with Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of British band Coldplay. Martin and his fellow band members were in India recently for Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World Tour. Coldplay performed in Mumbai for three straight days, before wrapping up their tour with two concerts in Ahmedabad. During a recent interaction, Shukla made a hilarious revelation, saying that he didn't knew who Martin was when he first met him.

After enthralling the fans for three days in Mumbai, Coldplay played in Ahmedabad in a two-day concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium. On the final day, which was also streamed live, the band dropped a big surprise by getting Indian cricket team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah to arrive at the venue. On the spot, Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin, also dedicated a special song for Bumrah.
The love affair between British rock band Coldplay and India pacer Jasprit Bumrah seems to be continuing. Coldplay, who are performing five concerts in India between January 18 and 26, have referred to Bumrah during their live shows. Lead singer Chris Martin even paid tribute to him during one of their shows in Navi Mumbai, calling him "No. 1 in the world", to which Bumrah also showed his gratitude on social media. Now, a Jasprit Bumrah Test jersey was seen on stage as Martin and the band performed in Bumrah's home city Ahmedabad. Notably, Bumrah was also present in the event.
While the concerts of popular British rock band Coldplay have taken Mumbai by storm, there has also been a saga involving the band's lead singer Chris Martin and India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. In the first concert at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, Chris Martin had stated that Jasprit Bumrah was present backstage, and had asked Martin to stop the concert so that he could bowl to him. However, in the second concert the following day, Martin admitted that he had "lied" and that Bumrah had sent him a serious message.
