The third Grand Slam of the tennis season gets underway on Monday as the world's best players descend on London for the Wimbledon Championships.
Novak Djokovic will begin his quest for a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title against Argentina's Pedro Cachin, with a potential rematch of last year's final against Nick Kyrgios looming in the quarter-finals.
Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Wimbledon on account of a wrist injury. Last year’s beaten finalist had been hampered by injuries this year, but said on the eve of the tournament that he was happy with his fitness. Ad However, a wrist injury has led to him pulling out of the third Grand Slam of the year.

Carlos Alcaraz is desperate for a rematch with Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon. Alcaraz is expected to be Djokovic’s main rival at SW19 after winning the Queen’s title but, as the top seed, he can only face the 23-time Grand Slam champion in the final. LONDON : World number one Carlos Alcaraz is the new big thing in men's tennis but says Novak Djokovic remains the favourite to retain his Wimbledon title this month.
LONDON: Like other sports, women’s tennis is looking into the possibility of getting into business with Saudi Arabia. And while holding a tournament there is not imminent, WTA Chairman and CEO Steve Simon said Friday that he visited that country with some players in February as part of the evaluation process.
